The goal of the mod, led by creator Kris Takahashi, is to expand the world with new NPCs. The quality of NPCs is no different, thanks to a mod recently brought to light by Kotaku called Interesting NPCs. From better item sorting to a reduced proximity for triggering NPC greetings to new homes to vastly improved sounds and visuals, there is no limit to the number of ways Skyrim on PC has been enhanced for free by the efforts of the modding community. This is hardly Skyrim's only problem, and, time and again, modders have stepped up to plug these holes (and enhance areas that weren't problematic in the first place) in the PC version.
It's a problem that can really yank you out of the experience and ruin any sense of immersion. And it doesn't help that, despite the sheer number of NPCs in Skyrim being so high, so many of them are unmistakably voiced by the same individuals. Although you're less likely to run across identical, certifiably hideous NPCs in Skyrim than you are in past Bethesda games, they are not really notable in any positive sense the most remarkable thing about them is the meme that sprouted from far too many guards reminiscing about the same story of taking an arrow in the knee. A frequent weak point of Bethesda's open-world games have been their non-playable characters. Wonderful game as it is, Skyrim, like anything else, is not without its flaws.
